I've got mono

Self diagnosis, but consider the facts, from Medicinenet.com

One may be developing mono if they experience these symptoms:

* a general lack of energy or malaise,
* a loss of appetite, and
* chills.

I happen to be exhibiting all these symptoms simultaneously much to my displeasure and discomfort. But this rabbit hole becomes even darker.

These initial symptoms can last from one to three days before the more intense symptoms of the illness begin. The more common intense symptoms include:

* a severe sore throat,
* fever, and
* swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the neck area.

It is typically the severe sore throat that prompts people to contact their doctor.

This evidence, coupled with the fact that I've never had mono before and you can only get mono once, leads me to the conclusion that I want my mommy.

I may be out of commission in Web 2.0 for the next couple days (weeks). Be a doll and send me a get well comment, or come change my linens and give me a sponge bath. You can spoon feed me or read me stories. You can write my essays and compile my notes. You can take my tests and send me to Cuba on holidays after I'm better.

I hope you feel better. Please do see a doctor so he or she can give you the proper treatment. I'd hate for you feel so bad for any longer than necessary. Rest and relax.

“general lack of energy or malaise” – between your studies, friends and relationship, maybe you just need more sleep?

“loss of appetite” – you’ve always been skinny.

“chills” – you’re living in Winnipeg in the winter!!!! :p

I hope it’s nothing serious, and you feel better soon. Sorry I can’t help with the sponge baths. ;-)

@ RM: HAHAHAHA, YOU DO make a very strong argument there.

@IIJLH: Thanks. I feel better already. And I'd prefer a double double.

@TFG: I will be seeing one tomorrow morning.

Could it be strep throat?

A week's supply of antibiotics usually makes it go away.

Get better soon.

I don't believe it's strep throat as I do not have a sore throat, yet.

Yikes! Poor guy! I hope you feel better soon. I'm so good at the mothering when sick thing, sometimes I think my son Tyler pretends to be sick so he can get extra spoiled. See a Doctor if you don't get better soon or if you develop a bad sore throat. If your stomach can handle Motrin, it's better for body aches than Tylenol. Drink lots of tea and orange juice. Nice long hot baths and heating pads and warm socks at all times. Get lots of rest, if possible and watch tons of bad television. (Nothing makes you want to get better faster than that.) Big hugs!

Also, I meant to add that Motrin is better for fevers than Tylenol as well.

And...What am I, your Mudda?
