Indeed, the policies seem diametrically opposed to one another.

I, along with many Canadians, do understand that it was passed without the consultation or awareness of many groups. So long as we keep a fire under the government's backside, I'm sure it will be a passing fad.

I guess what shocks me about this sort of ban isn't that it exists--no surprise there, given that there's no shortage of homophobia in the world--but that it exists in Canada. As one of the few countries on the planet to have legalised gay marriage, I cannot understand how such a policy has actually been passed.

Don't let my ire cause you to believe that I'm unhappy. I could assure you I am a very happy person, but I'd rather let my friends vouch for me on that point.

One can be happy and justifiably enraged at the same time. I don't believe that all world changers are unhappy people.

Hi Michael.

When I came out, my mother said: "well son, your taking a difficult route; but make sure you become happy".
In other words: be prepared for some disappointments and difficulties every now and then. Cause it's not alway easy to be different from others.
But as long as you make sure you become happy, it's not that big a deal.
Don't let your happiness depend on what other people think about you!!
