Garage Sale!

I'm having a garage sale on Saturday, starting at 6 AM. Come around if you are in the area! It's at the corner of Dawson and Lawrence, in Orangeville. There's lots of quality stuff that I just can't bring with me when I move to Winnipeg, and have no where to store it! Everything must go!

This isn't the first garage sale I've ever had. Renee, Sheena and I had a fundraiser in 2001 to send us to Mexico and South Africa, respectively. We made over $714! Click on the photo for more pictures of that day.

Aparently I had no fashion sense back then, either.

Subliminal Slideshow with extra tags

Watch the video

I'm really excited about you watching this video.

I was inspired by Josh Leo's recent creative discovery. Josh calls it a 'Subliminal Slideshow.' Clever Josh! I've never seen this done before using every day, unorganized photos of seemingly unrelated, disjointed locations. In theory it should't work, yet it does!

Have you ever heard the term "a picture is worth a thousand words?" If that's the case, this video is worth over 4,000,000 words. There are over 4000 photos in 3 minutes.

You'll never think of a retake the same way again.

Some photos are by Jeremy.

I love the sun. Some people like the dark, but me, I'm a sun worshiper (no offense Lord.)

If you read it all the way through, I promise it has a point!

I worked a half night two nights ago, because the truck didn't come in to the store, so we had nothing to unpack. I wobbled in to the heemskerks around 3 AM and went to bed.

Woke up at 10AM to find a beautiful sunny day, hot and humid, the sun shining out of everywhere (this was not a drug trip.) Renee and Sheena were still sleeping so I then proceeded to harass the both of them until Renee read to me for 2 hours. What was the book called?...Twenty Someone....I can't remember. But it was good, and the word Africa was in it, so it had my attn. I also used the time to story board for my upcoming commercials.

Sheena woke up after 2 hours convinced that she had only slept for 20 minutes.

Jen came home from Summer School and Francois stopped by to pick up his cell phone which he had forgotten, and Jer emerged from the depths, and we all hung out in the living room until Renee got up and left unexpectedly. It happens once every 3 years, she needed space. (EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT! EXTROVERT HAS HAD IT WITH PEOPLE! DISAPPEARS MYSTERIOUSLY FOR 4 HOURS!)

At least I won't have to deal with that for 3 more.

Francois is getting an ear-piece, Jen is moving to Toronto, and Sheena was wanted to watch Oprah and Dr. Fill un-interrupted so she left.

I stopped by Pastor Darryls to chat and drop off the book "Blue Like Jazz"
I got an email from Joy!

I went tanning at the studio, using 13 of my free minutes I earned from Rogers, and burned my ass.

Decided not to go home and spent the night back at Renee's playing Mario Party 4 and Poker, then went to work.

Why is this significant? Because I did not pack "Sleep" anywhere in the day. I work midnights. I went from 10AM to 8AM the next day, and thought I was going to DIE! But it was worth it, because I had a great day with friends and sunshine.

That's my story. Sorry to disappoint you. I have nothing else profound to say.

Spontaneous Partying

I had my day off yesterday so I spent it with Sheena and Renee at their respective homes. Sheena actually made food for me. I was so shocked. We had a good talk. After I heard that Renee and her family were going to brace bridge so I was settled in to read "A New Kind of Christian" in her quiet house for the day, but she informed me that there was enough room in the car and I was invited. *Nice!* Beats reading all day for sure.

It was her aunt Norma's birthday and some other family that I'm good friends with were all together! I had such a great time, it was all unexpected. They have a pool as well, so it was the first time I have gone swimming in 6 months. I love it when spontaneous partying happens on your day off.

Apartment Woes

Woe is me. I'd really love to move to Orangeville by the end of July and I have no clue as to how that will come about. And it's stressing me out. Not externally, but internally, eating away at my couage and intuition.

My flat mate is being blackmaled silently by his dad, and the other one is a "maybe". I don't like maybes.

******Later

Good news, I just found out about a really great flat accross from the OK bowl in Orangeville, and it's only $800/mo.! I'd love to live in an apartment building! I was expecting some dark old basement! I love how God works so fast; I stress, he fixes the problem, end of story. I have to get in contact with Francois so we can go and check out these flats together. I really hope this works out!

So I have the next two days off and couldn't think of anything better to do than spend the time with my two friends, Renee and Sheena. We were painting an apartment owned by Sheen's parents. It was a bit impromptu...I invited myself...but I'm so glad that I did. I love hanging out with those two girls, they're such a pair! Aparently I'm the only guy who can sucessfully be around them for extended periods of time. They call me one of the girls...then say it's a complement...COOL!

I'm going to see "the day after tomorrow" this evening. I think I'm going by myself. How pathetic is that! None of my friends have any money, and I only have a free movie ticket. Crap, I was just on the site and saw that there were no movie passes allowed! I have a free ticket and NO TIME TO USE IT!

I also have forty minutes free tanning. Maybe I'll go use that instead...

So my schools fifty year reunion is comming up and I've been invited to go. I don't have a date. Not that it's important to be co dependanat on anyone...I just really don't want to go by myself. I hated high school, and the only reason I would like to go to that reunion is A) spend the night talking to my date (friend) and B) let everyone see how I've changed.

You can't have B without A. What would I do all night! Sit there by myself! I don't intend on talking to anyone unless they talk to me first. I need to find a date, and FAST!

Oh look, my friend Jasmine has just logged onto MSN...

You can't get that on satellite

So I was on a Rogers shoot this afternoon. Well, actually for me, it was the morning. See, I work midnights at Wal*Mart. I went to bed at 6 AM this morning and woke up at 2 PM to be in Orangeville by 4. My days are whacked, yet I love it.

Anyways, there's a 50th anniversary for the Credit Valley Conservation Centre (CVC) and fishing season is opening up on Island Lake. Plus an Osprey has newly made it's home on the side of the lake, adding oh so much excitement. It's the first shoot I have been on alone since I joined Rogers, and I enjoyed it. I checked out the footage afterwards and I know that there's enough to make a story happen.

I was trying to be as minimalist as possible/thus not shooting five hours for a 2 minute news segment but there was a problem. I had to get pictures of the Osprey landing on it's nest. Well, we waited for 20 minutes for this Osprey with the camera running and it was a no show. Then it did arrive, and it sat on a hydro pole for the remainder of my tape, cleaning itself. We'll have to change the angle of the story. Strike that/SOMEONE ELSE will have to change the angle of the story. My work here is done.

After the shoot I went to Montana's in Orangeville to see my friend Sheena, it's her second day of work. I walked in and was like "can I be seated at Sheena's table?" and they said that she was still hostessing and in a learning phase. Crap. What was I supposed to do? LEAVE?! So I had lunch anyways. But it was OK because Sheen saw me and stopped by my table for periodic visits. She forgot to put on her deodorant was one conversation. Do my boobs look weird was another. And does my makeup look crazy was the last. I love you Sheena.

So I'm going in to work at 11 PM and I'm already feeling tired. I'm just coasting off 2 days holiday so I know that my sleeping schedule has missed a few sprockets. Zany. Yowza.

I've been trying to research this Myers-Briggs test stuff and I took another test which said I was an ESTP, but when I read the profile It's NOT ME. So I'm through with tests, I'm just going for definitions. ENTP4ever!

My mosquito bite is itchy. I probably got a few more working in the CVC today.

Getting ready for work.

They call me novice

Well hello again.

I went hiking yesterday with two of my best friends, Renee and Jeremy. They took me west of Orangeville to the Cataracts/Forks of the Credit. I've never been before but I'm glad I went. There's an interesting ruin of an old mill, and with the leaves starting to bud on the trees after our tireless winter everything was green and revitalization. I just discovered a mosquito bite on my arm...Cant I have it all? Good weather and no bugs?

So we took some photos and climbed trees (I'm novice). I loved taking photos because it added a great element to the hike, a new sort of adventure and purpose. I need purpose. Hiking for me is boring if I don't have an ultimate destination or goal. yadi yadi yadi. I'll have a pic or 2 up on this site in a short while.

Speaking of getting pics on this site...GRRRR. It's so frustrating because the application I downloaded (hello from picasa) doesn't seem to work for me. I follow all the instructions and in the end my photo doesn't publish, it's just an error. This is supposed to be user friendly...Well, if it's so friendly why am I swearing at 7:30 in the morning. This had better work itself out. You'll see my real face in a matter of days.

I had a pretty packed day yesterday on top of the hike, that's for sure. I know how to maximize my time off. I saw Troy on the opening night with derrick, Jen, and Jeremy. It was an OK movie but there was a huge inaction scene in the middle which might have been OK except for the fact that IT WAS BOILING IN THE THEATRE! I was wearing a button up top and had to unbutton it and sit bear chested, then finally got so fed up with the romance and the heat that I complained. The cooling kicked in on the final 20 minutes, just as Troy was burning. I feel no shame in giving away the ending.

So after the movie Sheena came over and we were chatting up a storm, Renee her and I. We took a Myers Briggs test and were comparing our personality types, it was quite accurate and strangely humorous to see our identities spelled out in a few paragraphs. For those of you who know me well, you'll know that Sheena and Renee are two of my best friends. According to the Myers Briggs results, Renee finds Sheena's temperament to be a mystery, Sheena finds my temperament to be a mystery, and Renee and I are the most compatible companions. It's a triangle of mystery and romance. We laughed till the early morning.

I've got a shoot for Rogers this afternoon at 4PM and I'm hoping it goes REALLY WELL. I'm so excited, I'm going to be doing this alone. It should work out fine. Then after that it's on to Wal*Mart!
